The video above is great!

It includes clips about libraries in a variety of television shows and movies.

Tet holiday READING

Over the Tet holiday break I traveled with Miss Sarah and her parents (in from England!) to Singapore and Malaysia. It was a great trip... and I read THREE books during the one-week trip! I loved having the time to read and relax.

Below, we're reading outside our hotel in Singapore.
It was a great location -- in Little India!

We took the train from Singapore to Malaysia
and stayed in the cute town of Malacca for a couple days!

BOOK STREET!

Miss Sarah and I happened upon Book Street (one of them) yesterday after having brunch at a cafe.

I LOVE that a Book Street is set up for the Tet holiday!

I just finished the first Alex Rider book, Stormbreaker, and really enjoyed it! This is a fast-paced story with lots of adventure about a teenage spy. I wanted to read it because this entire series by Anthony Horowitz been a very popular read with many students this year!

Happy Lunar New Year!

Chúc Mừng Năm Mới -- Happy New Year!

Some of the teachers at the middle school wore the traditional ao dai to school on Thursday -- the last day before the Tet Holiday Break.   :)

Reading Buddies - January

Thursday was not only the last day before the Tet Holiday Break, but also our monthly visit with Miss Sarah's 6th grade ESL class for Reading Buddies with our 3-year-old friends at ISSP!

The 3 year-olds seem to really be enjoying themselves and remembering their 6th grade friends more and more each time!

Where's Waldo?

Fun in the library!

A group of 8th graders had a few extra minutes and
were searching in a Where's Waldo book...

Mr. Tim and Ms. Patrice

It was great to have Ms. Patrice bring her class
to the library today to check out new books!

Mr. Tim was also in the library at that time and talked a bit about his love for books and some of his favorites (aaand why he wasn't a huge reader when he was in middle school... but now is a reads regularly!).

Thanks for visiting!  :)

The Joy of Books

Maybe you have seen other videos like this one... but I really like how this is done.

Ms. Donna sent this link on to me -- thank you Ms. Donna! I love it.  :)

The bookstore is located in Toronto, Canada... and I can only imagine how long this took them to film AND edit!

Mr. Xe Om...

I took the time to pull over to snap a few pictures of this xe om driver... I love how many xe om drivers lounge on their bikes while waiting for a passenger to approach... but even better is this guy, who lounges and reads while awaiting his next passenger! Brilliant!

And another in Hanoi!
Reading the newspaper in the morning.   :)

Airport waiting

My brother tweeted this picture while we were waiting for our parents to arrive in Saigon (on December 18th)... they drove from Rochester, NY to Toronto... then flew to Tokyo... and on to Saigon (long trip!).

This is a NEW book in our library now! A good friend of mine back home in the States sent two of them to me. If you like the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books, I think you'll enjoy these too!

Beach and Books

I made the hydrofoil trip out to Vung Tao beach a few days ago with my mom, brother (Lenny), and his fiance (Lexey). The sky was a bit cloudy but it was a great day at the beach... and, of course, I could be found reading...  :)

Airplane Reading!

Recognize the blockhead below???

Hahaha... that's me, Miss Stacia, reading on the plane heading from Saigon to Hanoi with my family. We were having fun playing with my mom's iPad and the Photobooth app!
During the Winter Break I went on a 2-day, 1-night cruise
in Ha Long Bay with my family!

I loved being able to put on layers of warm clothing and a scarf... and reading on the front steps of the boat... my dad was hanging out too.  :)

I really liked reading in the calm of the Bay...
with the incredible surrounding scenery!

Angkor Wat

I took a break from sightseeing through temples in Angkor Wat, Cambodia, to READ!
