Shelf Talkers

There is now a box of shelf talkers in the library... you can come in and fill out a shelf talker to then put on the shelf near the book you are raving about!

If you're looking for a new, good book - have a look at some of the shelf talkers hanging around the library on shelves - others think these books are great! (Miss Stacia has posted some of her favorites too.)  :)

The box of shelf talkers is located above the Vietnamese graphic books.

Great books with Miss Sarah's classes!

Miss Sarah's classes have been coming to the library this week and checking out wonderful books for their reader's workshop. I really love their book picks!

Miss Patrice's classes love books!

Miss Patrice brought her 7th grade Language Arts classes to the library earlier this week for a library orientation and a chance to check out some great books.

I especially liked Miss Patrice's author share about Roald Dahl! He is a wonderful author with many funny, weird books that I think you'll love.

Here are some photos of Miss Patrice's classes with the books they checked out...

I am currently reading the first book in the popular manga series - Naruto...

What are you reading right now? Post a comment below... or stop in the library to have your picture taken and posted here too!

Awesome!

Miss Sarah checked this book out to use with her classes...

I think that's... AWESOME!  :)

Gregor the Overlander!

Having to be the one of the first students to be in Middle School is a very exciting change. The first thing that caught my eyes instantly was the library. There were so many books to choose from. I decided to ask Ms. Stacia, our helpful librarian, for some suggestions. She introduced me to this book called “Gregor the Overlander” and said that it was her all-time favorite book.

This book is about a boy named Gregor and his little sister named Boots who fell into the strange Underland beneath New York City. Gregor is on a quest to save his father who also had fallen into the strange Underland about two years ago. On the quest, they meet huge talking rats, cockroaches, spiders, etc.

I can’t just explain how much I love this book. It has become one of my favorite books. Since I love this book so much, I decided to also borrow the second book. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is interested in it. I think that everyone in the whole school should read this book because it’s such a great book.

Welcome!

Welcome to the AIS Middle School's Library Book Blog.  As we begin the 2011 - 2012 school year, Miss Stacia and Miss Phuong are gearing up for a great year in the library!

On this blog you will find library news, book recommendations, and more. Often, the best way to be turned on to a great book is through word of mouth from peers. The AIS library has a great collection (and variety) of books... come check them out!

Students - if you've recently read a good book, see Miss Stacia in the library to make your own recommendation video for the blog. It can be serious, funny, spooky... whatever will make others want to read the book.

Feel free to stop in the library as often as you like... see Miss Stacia and Miss Phuong... check out a few books... or take a seat, open a book, and find new lands and adventures. See you soon!
